These burgundy heads range from 3 to 6 pounds and average about 8 inches in diameter. Cabbage is a cool-season crop, sown in early spring for early-summer harvest or in mid- to late summer for fall harvest. Start indoors or direct-sow, spacing plants 1 to 1.5 feet apart.
